Being the nerd that I am, I was at Target yesterday, harassing employees about when the Nate Berkus line would appear on shelves, since (ahem) it was supposed to debut October 21. Surprise, surprise! Not one of the employees knew who Nate Berkus was or what I was talking about.
BUT not one to be discouraged, I went back after work today and was rewarded with exactly one end of aisle display that had a small handful of the advertised items on it.
Here’s what I came home with:
I got three of these small gold bowls to put trinkets, earrings and spare change in. I’d like the larger bowl as well, if I can find it.
I got this guy to, like, set on stuff. Maybe atop a pile of books? I don’t know! There are so many options for ram statues!
And this decorative pillow with gold studs will go in our soon-to-be brown/gold/green bedroom.
I’ll admit, I usually get all hyped up about a good Target line only to be sorely disappointed when I see the products face-to-face (I’m looking at you, Missoni for Target). That was not the case with Nate Berkus’ line. I ended up buying more than planned AND will go back for a few more items soon. This is quality stuff, my friends.
Are you kitten me right meow??? Look at that lamp! I ALMOST bought two for our bedroom. Instead, I snapped a photo, brought it home, showed Aaron and got the green light. Boy approved! See that beige/snakeskin box under the ram’s head? Yeah, I’m probably gonna get that too.
The lacquer tortoise shells were some of the first items from Nate’s line that caught my eye. How chic! How…huge! I didn’t realize until I saw them in person today just how big they are – about 20″x16″ – and just how difficult they’d be to place in my home. So I guess I’ll pass on those.
So, I guess my over-spending speaks for itself. Assuming the Little Rock Target locations will buck up and offer more items – like bedding, bath items and rugs – I’ve gotta hand it to them. They knocked it out of the park with this one. Way to go, Nate!
