In terms of blog posts, painting the kitchen trim isn’t exactly going to propel me to keyboard cat status. I mean, it’s not the most exciting update. It also isn’t the most exciting thing to do. I now know the one surface I hate painting more than ceilings. I blame the very large amount prep work involved:
This was taken after an hour of taping off the walls but before another hour of taping newspaper to the floors.
However, I think perhaps there is nothing nicer than newly painted, clean, white trim. I don’t have a before photo, but the trim was yellowed beige, beat up and stained. Painted white (or more specifically, “Alabaster” by Sherwin-Williams), the entire room looks brand new.
The bright, white trim also brings out the subtle color of the wall (“Natural Choice” by Sherwin-Williams). When the trim was off-white, the walls looked like a dull white color. But now, you can see their true tone. If you think I’m insane, you can totally tell in the below photo, which was taken at night:

Congrats! Trim is the worst. But, you’re right, it makes a world of difference. We’re working on ours tonight.
So fresh. So clean-clean. xo.
p.s. Um. Aren’t we supposed to be rooming together at Alt Summit right now? Slackers. NEXT YEAR… OR ELSE.
