Master Bathroom : Curtain Call!

Y’all. I know. You’re thinking, “What is up with that master bathroom? I can’t sleep at night because Rosemary hasn’t posted anything about it.”

I’m so sorry. You see, I ordered a shower curtain from West Elm over a month ago, not paying attention to the tiny fine print that said, “Oh yeah, by the way, this item is on backorder for 4 weeks. But you aren’t paying attention to this, and in your excitement you’re paying for it anyway. SUCKA.”

It was so tiny. I swear I didn’t even see it.

So here’s a reminder of the Master Bath before we moved in:

And here’s what it looks like now:

The shower curtain is West Elm’s Stripe shower curtain (and, regrettably, about six inches too short, but I’m dealing) and I carried the yellow throughout the room with C.O. Bigelow Lemon handwash and body lotion from Bath and Body Works, which I brought in from the other bathroom.

As previously mentioned, the towel rack above the toilet was scored for $5 at a yard sale. The new chrome trash can was $25 from Target. Slightly pricey for a trash can, we thought, but a certain someone (ahem…Lula) loves to go through the bathroom trash and rip up toilet paper while we’re at work, so $25 seemed worth it for a covered trash can.

The toilet paper holder and towel racks on the opposite wall (not pictured) are all chrome hardware from Home Depot. And the accessories are kitchen containers from Garden Ridge ($7 total) and Aaron’s previously owned man toiletries that all matched the room.

We’re not finished! See below:

I have to make a new curtain for the chrome rack under the sink. The curtain that came with it (it was $25 from Target, btw) is way too short and it came with paper clips rather than hooks. NO LIE. So that will require some work.

And who knows, maybe one day we’ll install an actual vanity.

The light fixture and medicine cabinet will also be replaced. But I’m being picky and it’s taking awhile. Also, notice how stinking crooked that medicine cabinet is. Yikes.

And last, but certainly not least, we will be replacing every door in this house, swapping out unpainted hollow-core doors with nice white six-panel doors.

But that’s all still filed under “eventually.” I’ll be sure and keep you updated.

Love it – it’s hoteltastic! And I have been lusting after the gray striped bedding from West Elm and, after seeing it was also on backorder, settled for some Ikea wares. Sigh.
