Thanks again to everyone who weighed in on my curtain dilemma! Like I said the other day, you guys offered up some great ideas and advice and I really appreciate it!
So what did I choose? Well, in the most annoying move of all time, I kinda sorta chose “all of the above.” The thing is, at the end of the day, I couldn’t live with the thought of slicing my 54″ fabric up the middle. It was too expensive and the margin for error/me hating my curtains was just too much!!! That being said, I am now officially accepting donations in the form of Cynthia East gift cards. Or cash. Because I’ll be headed back that direction for another 5 yards of Khanjali Peacock soon. Le sigh…
On the other hand, I was really digging the look of those bands in the previous post. My curtains would look so fancy and custom! So my seamstress/mom and I headed to Hancock’s and found a beautiful chocolatey gabardine fabric. We/she will sew 5 inch bands into the curtains, like so:
THEN, and here’s the really genius part: we bought enough of the chocolate-colored fabric to also make a bedskirt, since my first one was such an epic fail.
So there you have it: nice and wide custom curtains with a matching bedskirt. I couldn’t be more excited. Now come to my yard sale this Saturday so I can afford to buy more curtain fabric and finish this project!
