It is a truth universally acknowledged that I am obsessed with Christmas music. I have more than eight hours of Christmas music stored in my iTunes library and I start listening to it the day after Thanksgiving. I collect Christmas music the way some people collect stamps: pathologically. So narrowing down a Christmas playlist to less than 50 tracks was difficult for me, but I managed to tame it down to 27. There are a few of my favorite classics (Otis’s “White Christmas” and Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”), plus a heavy hand of jazzy stuff because if I was stranded on a desert island and could only play one album for the rest of my life, it would be Vince Guaraldi Trio’s Charlie Brown Christmas album. But I also love modern Christmas music too, like The Walkmen and The Raveonettes. And because I’m physically incapable of making a playlist without Andrew Bird on it.
VERY IMPORTANT: What is your favorite Christmas song? Please tell me in case I haven’t heard it and can add it to my collection!
